SEARCH is proud to have received the following awards for the “Permian Basin History” website:
- Best UI, UX, and Innovation from CSS Design Awards;

- Webpicks from Communication Arts;
- WD Favorite from WD Awards; and
- Honors for design from awwwards.
These awards honor the work of our partners, Ground Media and Granyon, who spearheaded web development on this project.
In 2021, archaeologists with SEARCH and TRC Companies, Inc. (TRC) were contracted by GAI Consultants to excavate 10 archaeological sites in the Permian Basin across modern-day New Mexico and Texas. The results of the excavation and laboratory analyses helped answer research questions about the people who lived in the region. Concomitant with the aforementioned research, a website was developed as a public outreach component of a broader cultural resources project. The website is intended to share the research results as well as the stories from the past that can be interpreted from the findings.
